A Message from Katie Walsh Flanagan, District 3 Director
Plan for District 3 Meeting 2020
MAATA-District 3 will not be holding our Annual Meeting in Charlotte next month, but instead we are offering something new: There will now be two aspects to our meeting: a virtual live Business meeting with EBPs, and, separately, an opportunity to get Continuing Education units in May and June.
Those of you who have paid for your registration for the 2020 Charlotte meeting will be refunded, beginning today, allow a few weeks please. If you booked a hotel room that has not been cancelled, please do this as soon as possible.
The Business Meeting:
We are hosting a Live-virtual Business Meeting (Saturday, May 16th) for all Certified/Certified-Retired District members; but they must registrar (for FREE) before the meeting. There will be a (Free) 1.5 hour EBP as part of this event for the MAATA members who registered in advance. The Business Meeting will address changes to the Constitution and By-Laws, as well recognize our member honors and awards. Registration for this free event will open Monday, May 11th.
We know we are the fifth NATA District to cancel or shorten our meeting, so to help out all NATA Members, we are offering Continuing Education though our home-study program. Beginning mid-May and extending through mid-June, we will post up to a dozen one-hour courses available for Category A CEs. Everyone must registration and pay a small fee to earn these CEs. There will also be Free Communications offered for members.
Further details on both events will be posted in the MAATA Spring Newsletter this month, as well as posted on-line and social media throughout the spring
There will be a competitive Student Quiz Bowl as well as a Young Professional Career Workshop available for members. Be certain to check the Spring Newsletter this month and social media in coming weeks
This is all possible due to the determination, drive, and perseverance of the MAATA Planning Committee, especially Scott Cook, Kim Pritchard, Emily Hildebrand, Ray Davis, Jason Mitchell - Thank YOU for your patience and hard work to make this happen for the members.
