A 29 year veteran of the athletic training staff at Elon University Martin Baker serves as the District Director of the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers’ Association. Prior to serving as District Director Baker served six (6) years as secretary and treasurer of the MAATA. In addition to his service within the district Baker has served on the national level as a district representative to the History and Archives Committee where he developed the outline for the book Far Beyond the Shoe Book, Fifty Years of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, a book by Richard G. Ebel celebrating the 50th anniversary of the NATA. He also served for six (6) years on the nominating committee for the Board of Certification (NATA-BOC). As District Director his primary responsibility is to represent the membership of District III on the NATA Board of Directors and to provide leadership and oversight of district matters.

Pat Aronson is currently in her first term as secretary for the MAATA. Prior to her stint as secretary, she served as the District III representative to the NATA Women in Athletic Training Committee.
Now in her 21st year at Lynchburg College, Dr. Aronson is a full time faculty member and the Clinical Coordinator for the Athletic Training major. Pat was honored by the NATA when she received the Most Distinguished Athletic Trainers Award in 2004 and the Athletic Training Service Award in 1998.

Robert Cable is a 1982 graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College, and received a Masters degree from West Virginia University in 1986. He has been employed by Fairmont State University since 1990 as the Head Athletic Trainer and Director of Facilities, as well as serving as an instructor in the School of Health and Human Performance at Fairmont State University. He served two consecutive terms as the President of the West Virginia Athletic Trainers Association and was heavily involved in the initial ground work for the recent registration of athletic trainers in the State of West Virginia. He is an 8 year member of the Facility Senate for Fairmont State University and was recently elected to the Executive Committee of the Senate. He is responsible for managing the athletic training needs of 15 intercollegiate sports. He received the NATA College /University Athletic Trainers’ Committee’s 2010 Head Athletic Trainer of the Year award

Charlie Rozanski, ATC, began his term as the district
director of MAATA in June of 2004. He also serves on
the board of directors for the National Athletic Trainers'
Association (NATA). He is a certified athletic trainer
and is director of sports medicine with North Carolina
State University in Raleigh a position he as held since
1992.
A former member of NATA's College/University Athletic
Trainers' Committee and district secretary for the past
six years, Rozanski looks forward to broadening his
experience as a board member. "Having the opportunity
to be involved in the policy making for our national
association is exciting," Rozanski said. "There are
a lot of very knowledgeable people on that board of
directors, and I'm looking forward to hearing what they
have to say and trying to get a feel for how I can best
help the organization. My job is to build a consensus
within our district and to project the opinions and
attitudes of our district to the rest of the country,"
he added. |
